Piggl SIDE POD has been designed to fit all short or long wheelbase T5 or T6 Volkswagen Transporters including T5.1 and T6.1's. Please let us know if your Transporter is SWB or LWB when ordering. 

KOMBI VANS: Piggl SIDE POD is not suitable if you have a row of Kombi seats in place inside your Transporter as it will not fit behind or alongside the seats. You will need to remove the seats to install Piggl SIDE-POD. If you also have the kombi seat brackets in the floor of your Transporter then ideally, you will remove them to fit Piggl SIDE-POD or, If you cannot remove the floor brackets, then you will need our Piggl SIDE-POD KOMBI KIT which raises the unit up over and around the floor brackets, allowing them to be fitted to the floor of your van safetly.

USING WITH PIGGL BIKE-BED: Piggl SIDE-POD can be fitted alongside Piggl BIKE-BED easily and utilises one of the same floor mounting points. If you have a kombi kit for Piggl BIKE-BED then you should add the Kombi Kit to Piggl SIDE-POD otherwise they will be different heights. 

TWIN SLIDING DOORS: If you have twin-sliding doors in your Transporter, then Piggl SIDE-POD will overhang the step. Piggl SIDE-POD does not have a solid base nor back (as it is designed to sit on the floor of a standard Transporter) therefore you would need to add a base yourself or purchase our Piggl SIDE-POD Kombi Kit which raises the unit up 12mm and gives the unit a solid base.

VW SHUTTLE: Piggl SIDE POD is not designed to fit into a VW Shuttle as the interior panels will interfere with the fit. If you want to fit Piggl SIDE POD into a VW Shuttle, then you will need some skills and be prepared to cut into or remove the wall panels, some of the floor and the rear tailgate panel as these will prevent the unit from being fitted. 

In a LWB Shuttle, the floor mounting point for the side pod may be located in the floor underneath the wall panels (in front of the rear wheel arch). Piggl cannot accept responsibility for any parts broken or damaged in fitting Piggl SIDE POD into a VW Shuttle and the responsibility lies soley with the buyer as Piggl SIDE POD has not been designed for this purpose. 

MOUNTING POINTS: Once assembled, Piggl SIDE-POD is installed using two of the existing mounting points in your van's floor and all fixings are provided. You will need to locate and expose the two mounting points shown below (which may be under your van's sub-foor) prior to installation. Piggl SIDE POD must be fitted onto a solid, flat floor - not the bare metal ribs of the floor as this will cause the frame to bend and be unsupported.

USING WITH PIGGL BIKE-BED: Piggl SIDE-POD is designed to be installed alongside your Piggl BIKE-BED to create a full-width bed platform inside your Transporter when the bed is collapsed down flat. With Piggl BIKE-BED in its upright position Piggl SIDE-POD provides extra stuff-storage inside your campervan.

NOTE: You should add the Kombi Kit to Piggl SIDE-POD if you also have the kombi kit for Piggl BIKE-BED otherwise they will be different heights. 

Piggl SIDE-POD is precision CNC machined from 18mm thick phenolic resin faced birch plywood with a black hexagon shaped finish. Inside panels have a smooth black phenolic film finish. This material is robust, waterproof, UV resistant and hardwearing. The attractive, exposed Birch Plywood edges are sealed with linseed oil. 

The hinged lid has high quality, stay-closed hinges. The pods are fixed to the floor using sturdy, steel brackets and bolts using the existing floor mounting points in your Transporter.

Piggl SIDE-POD is designed to be installed alongside your Piggl BIKE-BED to create a full-width bed platform (larger than king-size at 200 x 162cm) inside your Transporter when the bed is collapsed down flat. With Piggl BIKE-BED in its upright position Piggl SIDE-POD provides extra stuff-storage inside your campervan.

For the best install, we recommed installing Piggl SIDE-POD first into your Transporter using the brackets provided, and then installing Piggl BIKE-BED afterwards. Both items of furniture use the same rear mounting point in your van's floor next to the D-Pillar, but the metal bracket provided needs to sit under Piggl BIKE-BED. 

If you already have Piggl BIKE-BED in place then you will need to unbolt the bed frame from the floor of your van, lift the frame up slightly to allow the fixing bracket of Piggl SIDE-POD to slide into place underneath the bed frame before bolting back down into place.

Add Piggl SIDE-POD Cushions to your Piggl SIDE POD. When coupled with Piggl BIKE-BED Mattress Cushions you create a full width mattress inside your VW Transporter. The bed size is larger than king-size at 200 x 162cm.

Each mattress is handmade to order by highly experienced upholsterers in the UK from dual-density foam to provide comfortable sofa cushions to sit on and a supportive mattress to sleep on. 

All cushions can be stored on the back shelf of Piggl BIKE-BED when the bike rack is in use.

To make placing an order for your Piggl SIDE-POD as easy and as flexible as possible we have these payment options: 

1. Pay in full immediately. Once your order is ready to be dispatched we will contact you directly to discuss a suitable pallet delivery date for you. 
2. Pay a deposit.This deposit is a part-payment of your order and is non-refundable. The deposit secures your slot for us to begin CNC manufacture of your unit. Once your order is ready to be dispatched we will contact you directly to take the remaining balance payment and to discuss a suitable delivery date for you.  
3. Pay in Full + Install For a small additional charge we will assemble your Piggl BIKE-BED and Piggl SIDE-POD and have both ready for you to collect from us in Chester only in your prepared Transporter.
4. Pay in Full + Kombi Kit If you have kombi seat brackets in the floor of your Transporter then you need the Piggl SIDE POD Kombi Kit to ensure you can fix the unti to the floor of your van.

Install is available from us in Chester (CH3) only. We will contact you to agree a suitable date and time. Install requires you to have prepared your Transporter with exposed floor mounting points ready for us to install your ready-built Piggl SIDE POD.  

By placing an order you are confirming that you have read and understood our Terms & Conditions, how Piggl SIDE-POD works, that it will be provided as a flat-pack product for you to assemble and install and that you have read and understood what items and fixings are or are not included as standard. 

Deposit payments are not available on accessories. 

Delivery is only Monday - Friday. We cannot deliver at weekends or bank holidays.

Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for the processing, manufacture, packing and delivery of Piggl SIDE-POD. We will notify you when your order is ready to dispatch to arrange a suitable delivery date. Delivery will be made on a pallet and customers are responsible to have someone at the delivery address and adequate space to accept the delivery.  

All deliveries are of flat-pack and require self-assembly.
